About Take A Vet Fishing

Take A Vet Fishing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring, supporting, and uplifting the brave men and women who have served our country. Since 2011, we have provided thousands of U.S. military veterans—especially those living with the effects of post‑traumatic stress with a peaceful, restorative day on the water through free, professionally guided fishing experiences.

 

Our mission is simple:

Our Purpose

For many veterans, the transition back to civilian life can be challenging. Time on the water offers something uniquely powerful, quiet, connection, camaraderie, and a chance to breathe. Through our events, veterans experience:

• The healing benefits of nature and time outdoors

• A supportive community that understands and appreciates them

What We Do

Each year, Take A Vet Fishing hosts events across the country, partnering with volunteer guides, sponsors, and local communities to provide:

• Free, full‑day guided fishing outings

• All equipment, meals, and support at no cost to veterans

• A safe, welcoming environment focused on healing and connection

• Access to additional no‑cost mental health and wellness resources

 

Our events are designed to honor service, build community, and remind every veteran that they are valued and never alone.
